Thank You Giveaway

I previously said this before, but I’ll say it again: when I started this blog, I did not expect to come this far. I’ve started and abandoned many blogs over the years, but this book blog has been the only one that really stayed close to my heart. This is the only blog that gave me the chance to do something so fulfilling, the only blog that gave me an opportunity to build bridges with other people, and honestly, I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. I’ve learned a lot through reading and reviewing. I learned how to read between the lines; what to look for in a book; how to think critically; and most importantly, how to interact with other people, be they reviewers, bloggers, authors, or simply readers. And it’s all thanks to you, guys!

I would like to thank Rashika and Aimee, too, for being wonderful co-bloggers. You guys are fun to be with, and it’s been awesome sharing this awesome “burden” with you! You definitely make the ride a hundred times more interesting.

I also would like to thank my support group of bloggers who’ve been there for me whenever I needed to rant, gush, or vent. It all started as a random GChat convo that later grew to an incredible support system. Amir, Jeann, Dre, Ella, Jules, Francine, Larissa, Valerie, Shannelle, Sarah, Kelly, and Irish, you guys rock.

And to the incredible people who’ve been regularly commenting on our blog, checking out our reviews and other what-have-you, you guys are also my rock. It feels awesome to know that our thoughts and insights are being read and our efforts appreciated, and this is all because of you guys. Pili, Kimberly, Lily, Jessica, Carmel, Melanie (YA Midnight Reads), Cait, Kindlemom, Stuti, Cristina, Emily, Zoe, Giselle, Nick, Siiri, Mitchii, Jasprit, Tanja, Romi, Melliane, Joy (JoyousReads), Joy (Thoughts by J), Joy (Bookshelf Intruder), Lyn, Celine, Christy, Melanie (The Daily Prophecy), Lola, Alex, Angie, Tricia, Danielle, Paula, and many others… I’ve lost count, but you guys know who you are. I love you all.

There are many people I want to thank and I am not even sure I’ll be able to thank all of them but I’d like to start off by thanking 6 ladies who have been wonderful friends to me and I am just glad that they have been there for me.

THANK YOU JASPRIT (from The Reader’s Den), NICK (from Nick’s Book Blog) and SIIRI (from Little Pieces of Imagination). Also THANK YOU TO MY BOSNIAN BEAUTIES, Glass and Tanja (from Ja Citam A Ti?). ANDD my wonderful Kelly Armstrong loving buddy Jessica (from Rabid Reads).

I also want to thank Danielle (from What Danielle did Next). We both started blogging around the same time and I cannot believe how far we’ve both come! Ahhhhhhhh *tackle hugs*

Next I obviously want to thank my beautiful co-bloggers, you know who you are my little potatoes.

I also want to thank the wonderful Filipinas I have met over the past couple months. You guys have been amazing and you make me feel like I am one of you <333333 You’re all wonderful and kind and are like a second family. AND YOU NEED TO GIVE ME THE SECRET TO YOUR YOUTH. Ahem.

Then there are also some of the wonderful Aussie bloggers I have had the pleasure of knowing and I am so happy to call you guys my friends. You are a wonderful group of people and I LOVE how you guys always have each other’s back. It’s amazing how you guys are always so kind to everyone else too and no one ever feels left out when talking to you guys (except when we don’t get to read all the awesome books you get to).

Last but not least, I also want to thank every single one of our followers and anyone who has ever taken the time out of their day to comment on our blog. I love reading all of your comments and even though I haven’t had time lately to give back the share the love, I promise I am working on it! It’s because of you all that I continue to blog. That sounds cheesy, yes but I completely mean it. There will be days when blogging will bring you down but your continues support makes me realize why I am doing this. SO THANK YOU ALL.

Also if I am sure I am forgetting MANY names (since my brain has been clogged up for so long) but if I didn’t mention you it’s not because I don’t love you, it’s because my brain has been overworked for too long!

First off, I really, really want to thank Faye for taking me in. I used to be one of her stalkers, see. I was a huge fan of Faye and this blog, and now here we are, almost like sisters! <3 Of course, I also want to thank Rashika for being supportive, and for her exquisite sense of humor–really, that lady can make me giggle after an entire day of crap. We haven’t really talked a lot lately, but I know these two girls have my back and will be there when I need them.

Next up, I want to thank the amazing PH bloggers who’ve been awesome friends to the three of us (who Faye already mentioned earlier): Dre, Amir, Ella, Jules, Francine, Shannelle, Nix and Irish. *hugs everyone* I’m glad I already met you guys in real life and that you weren’t all that bothered by my awkwardness. Well, except for ate Amir. We’ll meet in the future, okay? :) And Abby as well, even if we didn’t get the chance to meet yet. :( Soon, woman!

Oh! And thanks to the lovely authors and publishers who have given us the opportunities to read and review their fabulous books. The bookish community wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you guys!

Thank you also to our frequent commenters and friends, mentioned already by Faye and Rashika. We love you guys, and we wouldn’t be where we are if it weren’t for all of you! Heck, we wouldn’t have the energy to blog if we knew you guys wouldn’t appreciate our posts, but we know you guys do, and it’s really heartwarming every time you leave comments and talk to us!

Lots of hugs and thank yous as well to our readers–even the ones who don’t comment. Thank you for reading our content and making us feel loved! You guys are fabulous, and if I knew who you were I’d give you all some cookies. (If, you know, I could reach my hand into my computer screen and hand them over to you guys…) Anyway, HUUUUUUUUGS. Stay cool, guys!

As a “THANK YOU”, we’re giving away TWO books worth up to $10 each to TWO winners! Join below!

Rashika is a mysterious creature who likes to hide in the shadows. It's impossible to get to know her but if you must know, she is a huge bookworm. She also happens to have a huge sweet tooth so you can always lure her over the dark side by offering her something sweet (or bribing her with books).

    AWWWW <333

This post was super sweet, as are all of you. Thanks for the mention <33

I've only known y'all and this blog for a short time, but still I can easily depend on it for churning out quality content with clear and amazing personality. Inherently, I think people want to be remembered, they want to stand out from the crowd. I truly and honestly think that magic is happening with the Social Potato and all of you as individuals. With your critical reviews, potato podcasts, discussions etc etc etc- you're carving out a clear and concise spot in the blogging world. The success you get from this is definitely well deserved and I hope it only continues to alter and grow in the future. When I first got into blogging, I recall being in awe and even a bit intimidated of the work happening at this blog. I wanted to be like you- y'all were really an inspiration to the blogging noob I used to be c:

I'm so glad to have gotten to know every single one of you, and for having the pleasure to read the content you create. If there's one thing I regret the most about being so busy lately, it's not being able to comment consistently and show you through words how much I appreciate all of the hard work you do for the blogging community, and even me personally. Not only does the social potato create brilliant work, it also fosters great interactions between book lovers that is honestly so important.

I think we all have learned so much from blogging in general from the overall experience and it's so great to see the Social Potato celebrate this milestone <33

Love for dayssssss <333333333333 (is that enough 3's???? I don't even know)

Right back at you kiddos <3

Not only have the spuds been a permanent blogging fixture, but you guys are pretty infamous as well. Aimee has basically coined the phrase 'nerd rage' (love that one), Rashika is like her own episode of Mork and Mindy, and Faye is known worldwide for being the fussiest reader known to man. You tell it like it is, balls to the wall. But scathing reviews aside :D you're all lovely poppets and I feel privileged just to shout 'I KNOW THEM, THEY'RE TOTALLY MY PEOPLE!'

I love you all my little spuds <3

To be honest, I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like to have not met you girls in the blogosphere. <3 Each of you bring something absolutely pheonominal and unique not only to The Social Potato, but to the blogosphere in general, and I really love that. It is always absolutely amazing being able to discuss books with you, and I look forward to many, many more discussions in the future.

    Happy blogoversery! <3

Gahdammit, I’m sooo late to this, but seriously — we should be the ones thanking you for being such awesome bloggers and starting this awesome blog! It was only recently that I stumbled across your blog (mid 2014, I think?), and I’m really happy I did. All three of you have been such huge inspirations to me. :)

Faye — Love your thought-provoking and original discussion posts. The questions you ask are sometimes difficult to answer, but so fun to think about! And not to mention, your hilarious reviews. You have a great sense of humor, girl!

Rashika — I love all your comments! You leave some of the longest and sincerest comments around the blogosphere, and I honestly admire you for that. Also, your informative reviews! Can’t get enough of them. :D

Aimee — Wow, girl, managing two (or was it three?) book blogs at a time and writing such awesome comments. You’re a superhero! I have no idea how you manage. And then there’s your gorgeous Instagram account; congratulations on hitting 900 followers — you and your beautiful pictures deserve it so much!

KEEP BLOGGING, GUYS. And congratulations on your second blogoversary (super late to wish you this, too, oops ><)! I'm looking forward to reading more awesome posts from you guys, even if I don't always comment! :)
